Short rehash

This is a very short book of about 80 pages. It summarizes the work of Jensen, Rushton and Lynn. There is nothing new in it but it has some utility in that it has many major findings in one place.

Far From Complete. But Persuasive.

A bit short, but powerful. I do NOT agree with the author's conclusions. Nevertheless, he does accurately present evidence to support his claims. Intelligence is most certainly related to genetics and brain size relative to body size. Intelligence is measurable. Certain groups have measurably higher intelligence than other groups. These matters are no longer at issue. Whether there is some hard and fast thing as "Race" is certainly debatable. Despite the pseudo-science of race hucksters, politicians and assorted ideologues, it appears there is no such thing as Race. This kind of scholarship is needed to debunk the claims of Racists and Politicians that all individuals can perform at the same levels, and we should waste billions of dollars trying to turn morons into geniuses.

About the Author
Napoleon Hill (1883-1970) was born in a one-room cabin on the Pound River in Wise County, Virginia. He began his writing career at age 13 as a "mountain reporter" for small town newspapers and went on to become America's most beloved motivational author. His classic work, Think and Grow Rich, continues to inspire millions to believe and achieve and is a cornerstone of the modern self-actualization movement. Before passing, Hill established the Foundation as a nonprofit educational institution whose mission is to perpetuate his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievement.

Don Green, a resident of Wise, Virginia, the birthplace of Napoleon Hill, brings nearly 45 years of banking, finance, and entrepreneurship experience to his role as Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation. His first youthful business venture was charging admission to see his pet bear yes, the living, growling kind! Since 2000, Green has traveled worldwide and used his finance skills to grow the Foundation s funds in order to continue the Foundation s educational outreach to prisons. Professor Colin Poole is internationally known in the field of thin-layer chromatography and is an editor of the Journal of Chromatography and former editor of the Journal of Planar Chromatography - Modern TLC. He has authored several books on chromatography, recent examples being “The Essence of Chromatography” published by Elsevier (2003), and “Gas Chromatography” published by Elsevier (2012). About the Author

Edward S. Greenberg is a Professor of Political Science and a Research Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Ed’s research and teaching interests include American government and politics, domestic and global political economy, and democratic theory and practice, with a special emphasis on workplace issues. He has just completed a multi-year, longitudinal panel study, funded by the NIH, that examines the impact of corporate restructuring on employees.

Benjamin I. Page is the Gordon S. Fulcher Professor of Decision Making at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Ben’s interests include public opinion and policy making, the mass media, empirical democratic theory, political economy, policy formation, the presidency, and American foreign policy. He is currently engaged in a large collaborative project to study Economically Successful Americans and the Common Good.

Do you trust the Government?

.. Now more than ever before in history Americans do not trust their Government. Yet, most people don’t even know how the government operates or significant dates in American History. This textbook provides usable tools for critically analyzing our political system and making judgments for how well our government works. The text is comprehensible, lays a good foundation for understanding government and politics, and provides food for thought.

It is ok

Well, this was requested by the professor, so I bought it. Would I use any other products besides Pearson if there were more available, and better, yes. I do not really think the book is exceptional, neither is the online practice. Lots of little errors and somethings are not very clear. Questions of quizzes are not well formulated either. I think college professors end up choosing Pearson products because there are not many other options that meet price (reasonable enough for undergrads) and content. So, it is just okay.
