A real Christian life lived, simple like Jesus, and profound like Jesus

Phyllis did her job well in detailing Sundar's brief life. She begins nearly every chapter with one of his parables. Sundar was so rare an individual, having a godly mother's example and his own spiritual hunger from early youth. He was no less a sinner than the rest of us until, - until that night when everything changed and he bowed his whole being to Jesus and never looked back. For a while Sundar traveled and taught a lot (even coming to America) but was grieved by the state of the church both in Europe and here, and went home to rather minister to the Hindus and Buddhists of India and Tibet. After his conversion, Sundar's was a life lived to the full.

About the Author
Craig has been involved in sports since he was six years old. He competed in soccer, taekwondo, and football. Craig received his black belt by age 12 and soon became an accomplished athlete in three different sports. Craig went to college to earn a Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine, a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, a second Masters degree in Biomechanics, and is presently working on a Ph.D in Biomechanics. Craig is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association and a Nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. For the past few years he has been involved in both human and veterinary (i.e. canine, equine, and bovine athletes) sports medicine and athletic performance research. He is also the CEO and founder of athleteproject.com.

Are you the target audience?

This book is targeted at parents of late teenagers with serious aspirations of playing sports at college or professional level. It was of little relevance to a parent trying to ensure that his 11 year old son has a safe, fun or rewarding experience playing hockey, soccer, basketball or lacrosse. I did not understand this from the supporting information, cover etc.

Soundscape Ecology represents a new branch of ecology and it is the result of the integration of different disciplines like Landscape ecology, Bioacoustics, Acoustic ecology, Biosemiotics, etc. The soundscape that is the object of this discipline, is defined as the acoustic context resulting from natural and human originated sounds  and it is considered a relevant environmental proxy for animal and human life.

With Soundscape Ecology Almo Farina means to offer a new cultural tool to investigate a partially explored component of the environmental complexity. For this he intends to set the principles of this new discipline, to delineate the epistemic domain  in which to develop new ideas and theories and to describe the necessary integration with all the other ecological/environmental disciplines.

The book is organized in ten chapters. The first two chapters delineate principles and theory of soundscape ecology. Chapters three and four describe the bioacoustic and communication theories. Chapter five is devoted to the human dimension of soundscape.  Chapters six to eight regard the major sonic patterns like noise, choruses and vibrations. Chapter nine is devoted to the methods in soundscape ecology and finally chapter ten describes the application of the soundscape analysis.

Very Impressed

I am very impressed by the spirituality of this book. It is perfectly contemporary while at the same time perfectly rooted in the past. It is biblical and doctrinal. The author is humble and resigned. Not every part is perfect, that is true. Some passages contain more quotes than original thought, but they are worthwhile quotes nonetheless. I would recommend it to someone, especially if they are not too religious or not very familiar with Christianity.
